All About Us
The Walton County Fair is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the rich agricultural heritage and vibrant arts of our community. Established in 1924, our fair has been a cornerstone of Walton County, offering a platform for individuals of all ages to showcase their talents and skills.
The Walton County Fair was chartered in 1924 and initially held at Harbeson Field in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Originally celebrated on Armistice Day, the fair was moved to October to enjoy more favorable weather. Governed by Florida Statute 616, the fair operates as a non-profit and is one of 51 county fairs in the state, spanning from Santa Rosa County to Hernando County. The Walton County Fair is unique in its independence from the county and its continued tradition of livestock shows for youth exhibitors.
